Every site I came across except for one stated that recirculation valves in general (not just the z32's) were more benefitial because they hold the boost. Every site said that blow off valves release the pressure into the atmosphere. You can't get that pressure back, which means that the turbo has to spool from scracth at 0psi. The one site that said that blow off valves were better was on a z32 and was referring to a worn out recirculation valve as the counterpart. He stated that its better money spent elsewhere. Bottom line, recirculation valves are supposed to reuse the pressure built up when you release the throttle. This allows less spool time than a blow off valve. I swear I'm going by what I've read on evo sites, a GM site and a z32 site. Bottom line, a blow off valve will function better than a recirculation valve... when its causing a boost leak or not functioning properly. Other than that, they are pointless because you can buy good recirculation valves for much cheaper than a decent set of blow off valves.
